My Favorite Gratitude Practice (+ Last Day!)

Today is the last day of our Gratitude Week, and the last day for your Black Friday Gift Pack for just $1! BUT FIRST… I saved the best for last, and today I want to share my own personal favorite gratitude practice. We have so many different things to be grateful for in our lives. This is the gratitude sequence that’s most powerful for me. I call this “Nested Gratitude.” First, I imagine the beginning of the Universe. Whether you believe it was created, or that it created itself, it was still an absolute miracle. As I imagine the Universe being created, I feel gratitude for existence. I feel gratitude that anything exists at all! Then I imagine the Milky Way Galaxy forming. And feel gratitude for the Galaxy. What a great fortune for us that this galaxy formed. Then I imagine the Solar System forming, with the Sun at the center. How fortunate that this spectacular solar furnace formed, and that it created the anchor for our own solar system. Then I imagine Planet Earth forming, and developing into a blue planet. And I feel gratitude that this wonderful environment came to be. Then I imagine life emerging. And I feel gratitude for life itself. And gratitude for my lineage and ancestors. Then I imagine my life emerging. And I feel gratitude for my life. This life. This experience of being alive in this body. Then I imagine the current time, and the zeitgeist (the “spirit of the times”), and I feel gratitude for being born in this incredible transformational time. By going through this sequence, I find that it really compounds and amplifies my sense of awe and appreciation.
