Click here to read it on the web.] [Eater] Chef Kitchen Tours, $11 Gelato, and Teigan's Cookbook [mcnallykitchen][Keith McNally's kitchen, which could be yours for $14 million] Hi readers, it's your Eater EIC Amanda here with the food world stories (from within and without Eater) that I found interesting (or enraging!) this week. Dive on in: Participants in the navel gazing and insular New York food media world can [finally stop asking each other] at dinner parties and brunches whether it'll be Nilou, [Jeff], or [Matt]. Now what will we talk about? The biggest thing that happened within my personal world this week was the beautiful relaunch of Eater sister site [Curbed.com]. They team there focuses on home design, architecture, real estate, and all kinds of other obsessive wonderful things. To celebrate the relaunch, we took kitchen tours with some major chefs around the country including [Ludo Lefebvre], [Rick Bayless], [Michael Schwartz], [Kelly Fields], [Jack Gilmore], [Mike Friedman], [Liz Prueitt and Chad Robertson], [Jose Garces], and [Wylie Dufresne]. I'm dying over Ludo's cabinetry: [ludo small] Per Curbed, Keith McNally [listed his West Village apartment] for a whopping $13.95 million, and it's exactly as it should be. (Scroll up.) I [love this piece Hillary Dixler wrote] about Chrissy Teigan's new cookbook because it explains why people are so interested in her and also why some uppity food world folks might be reluctant to give her the time of day. I personally really want to give this cookbook a try because I think the recipes are going to be accessible, a lot of them seem to involve copious amounts of cheese, and (to be really real here) I like looking at her pretty face. It's also kind of an unexpected book to have around as a food snob and good dinner party conversation fodder. No big deal, but Vegas is [getting a $2.1 million Benihana]. Oh [and a Momofuku]. Complaint corner: I found this [Anatomy of a Millennial graphic] in the latest issue of Bon Appetit pretty patronizing. Meanwhile their piece in which a San Francisco writer emphasizes how "Brooklyn" Indianapolis is ruffled [some feathers in the Midwest]. Along similar lines, Atlanta Magazine takes the Times [to task] for its condescending tone in its [recent piece] about how you can actually eat decent food in Atlanta these days. My Atlantan co-worker was more miffed by the headline of a [T piece]: "Bringing Artisanal Baking Down South." (Apparently the south has been baking artisanally for centuries?) [Food porn interstitial]: [Bill Sandwich 1] This week in genius sales tactics: A Girl Scout [stationed herself outside a weed dispensary] in Oregon to increase her cookie sales. The future of food? [Virtual restaurants], where diners order online from an entity without a storefront, and food comes from a commissary kitchen, which puts out meals from multiple concepts at once. I only went to Blackberry Farm once and it was pure magic. It's terrible and heartbreaking that someone so young passed so tragically. My heart goes out to the whole Beall family: [Sam Beall tweet] Beall, whose father founded Ruby Tuesday's, was the driving force behind turning the Tennessee resort into more of a culinary destination, with an onsite farm and in-house programs for making jams, beer, cheese, and more. When I was there last June, they were attempting to grow truffles on the property. In more upbeat news, here are [some stellar white wines] to get you through the rest of the winter. And here's a preview of all the upcoming [spring cookbooks that matter]. Fact: A restaurant serving [two scoops of gelato for $11] just opened in New York. Meanwhile Mario's new place is serving [three scoops for $13], which is the same [price you'll pay] for a piece of bundt cake at Chang's newest. The world is a weird place.
