As we enter Autism Awareness Month, Easterseals is not only committed to being the leading nonprofit provider of autism services at every stage of life, but we’re also committed to building a community of allies. That’s where you come in, friend! [In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, become an Autism Ally today! We’ve set a goal of engaging 5,000 committed supporters like you to join us.]( [BECOME AN ALLY]( Feeling included and accepted is critical to mental health. That’s why Easterseals works so hard to provide inclusive care for children and job training services for adults to support autistic people of all ages – while also promoting acceptance and tolerance in others. We’ve gained a lot of insights into the impact of autism acceptance through this critical work, and here are just a few that might help you to become a better ally: • When an autistic person doesn’t speak, don’t assume they don’t understand. • As with any interaction, when you see an autistic person having a difficult time – ask if you can help and respect their response! • Most importantly, the best way to learn more about autism is to ask the autistic people in your life directly before looking for answers elsewhere. It only takes a little bit of effort to be a powerful ally for autistic people. And as a dedicated supporter of our work for people with disabilities, we hope we can count on you in our pursuit of acceptance for autistic people and the entire disability community this Autism Acceptance Month. [Will you pledge to be an ally for autistic people now?]( [BECOME AN ALLY]( Thank you, Team Easterseals Easterseals 141 W.
