[Investment House Wrap Up] [IH Daily]( [Technical Traders Alert]( [Rapid Profits Stock Trader]( [About Jon]( In This Issue: - Market Summary - Targets Hit - Covered Call Options Play Weekend Wrap Up for 09/01/2024 by Jon Johnson Editor, [Investment House Daily]( [Technical Traders Alert]( & [Rapid Profits Stock Trader]( [1pxtrans]( Sponsored Content ["Hidden" Computer Code = Monthly Crypto Income?]( Everyday folks can collect "crypto royalties"... In other words, income from holding your crypto. And the best part is: You do NOT need to know anything about crypto... You do NOT need a lot of money (only $100 to start)... And you do NOT need a lot of free time (these payments are already pre programmed into the computer code)... [Click here to watch my presentation and learn how to collect your first "crypto royalty".]( 1. Market Summary [Jon Johnson]1. Market Summary - Nvidia (NVDA) earnings rattle stocks overnight, but stocks move higher Thursday morning - Nice upside moves but sellers again overrun stocks as S&P 500 approaches the July all-time high - Intraday action lousy, but the index leaves still keep the indices in the upside game - Reconciling company reports of consumer weakness with gross domestic product's (GDP) sharp upside revision in personal consumption - Afterhours earnings produce a number of winners - Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Friday before the open sets the next stage ahead of a three-day weekend The stock indices did a very good job of overcoming NVDA’s modestly subpar report (lacking in metrics in an important area), indeed shaking off the Wednesday post-close drop to open higher. The indices rallied upside again, came closer to the July 16 all-time high, then reversed, hard, starting just before 1:00 CST, dropping for just over an hour and a half. A decent rebound in the last hour looked promising, but the move waffled. That left the indices with any relation to tech lower: S&P 500, Nasdaq, Nasdaq-100 (NDX) and the PHLX Semiconductor Sector (SOX). The other NYSE indices held some gains on the day. Even so, it was a disappointing session for the upside with blown opportunity. It looked as if a gap fill was in the cards and then, not. That left the S&P 500 with a hammer doji just over the 10-day exponential moving average (EMA), Nasdaq and NDX showing the same pattern just below the 50-day simple moving average (SMA). SOX also showed that candlestick formation, but it is below the 50-day EMA while still holding the recent lows and the late July handle action to a potential inverted head and shoulders pattern. In short, still looks as if there is upside opportunity; at the same time, the market still falls short of making anything of those good looks. NOTE: The figures and facts above are from the 8/29 report. MARKET VIDEO [Click here to watch!]( NOTE: The video is from the 8/28 report. [Have You Seen This $11 Trillion 'Tech Strip?']( While many folks today are wondering what to do with their money… a revolutionary “sheet” of new technology has quietly sparked an $11 trillion tech revolution. Targets Hit Investment House Daily: Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT): As the market rebound trailed off into a big flag pattern below the S&P 500’s prior all-time high, stocks slowed their moves as well. That said, some kept trending higher, e.g. our play on WMT. We previously banked gain at our initial target on Aug. 15, locking in a 50% gain on half the position. We let it run, however, because WMT continued its trend higher above the rising 10-day EMA. This past week, the move turned lateral. It tried to bounce Thursday and did, but Friday, it stalled after an initial move higher. With things slowing down and with September call options, we opted to bank another half of the position and sent an alert to sell half the calls that were trading at $6.87. That gained a solid 159%. Now, if WMT restarts its move higher, we let them work. That might take until after Labor Day to see if that is the case. If so, its gains can overcome the closer time interval to expiration, but we will monitor the charts to see how it is performing for when we should bank the last part of the position. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
