Top bank predicts a “shortage” of this metal in 2025 (already moving)

Aggressive subsidies have made solar one of the world's fastest growing industries. The annual solar panel production has been ratcheted up to a new higher lever and it’s going to stay there. The chart shows annual solar installations worldwide: We have hit the turning point. The growth is having a major impact on the silver industry. Solar consumed less than 2% of global silver production a decade ago. Last year year it past 16%. It could be 20% next year. And it’s going to stay there. Silver production, meanwhile, hasn’t kept up at all. TD Securities sees supplies running out in the next “12 to 24 months.” Silver prices are already at 13-year highs, but if this is the case, there could be many more new highs ahead.
