Berkshire sold more than 100 million Apple shares for an estimated $40 billion. But this sale was just a fraction of the cash hoard building at Berkshire. This chart shows Berkshire’s record cash position: Berkshire sitting on this much cash is a concern for investors for three direct reasons. 1) Stocks are expensive - if one of history’s greatest value investors can’t find any values… 2) Risks are outweighing rewards - any investment must be able to beat the 4.5% 10-Year T-bonds are paying. 3) Buying opportunities are coming - they can wait years for the great times to buy and they are doing it now.
