Hi friend, it’s Carole King, and I really do write these emails. Recently, I worked with the DSCC on a survey to learn what matters most to our fellow citizens. In no particular order, here are some answers: - Stop Republicans from undermining the democracy that's taken this country 240+ years to build and protect. - Voting rights, voting rights, voting rights! - Help people and small businesses rather than big corporations. - Pay teachers as if we valued them as much as executives. - Combat climate change and keep us from reaching the environmental tipping points that scientists warned us about in the 20th century. But wait. Can you guess what the most common answer was? All of the above. [We need to supercharge our Democratic Senate majority if we're going to make these priorities a reality. So please, will you contribute $5 today to expand our majority so Democrats can continue making progress for us and our families?]( With a supercharged Senate majority, Democrats will be able to achieve many of the things that matter to each and every one of us. I’m calling on you to help elect as many Democrats as possible to the Senate. Why do we need more than 50 or 51? Even in the minority, Senate Republicans have enough power to block our progress. With enough votes, Senate Democrats can and WILL deliver solutions to the problems that keep you up at night. We’ve seen Democrats use their power to lift families and communities. We’ve also seen Republicans use their power to take away our rights and freedoms. We have the power to choose. I choose lifting. Will you join me? The MAGA agenda is dangerous. And the best way to smack down the MAGA agenda (which appears to be whatever Trump wants on a given day) is for Democrats to win the elections in November by a wide margin. [Supercharging our Democratic Senate majority is one of the most important things we can do to continue our progress, so I hope you'll join me today by donating $5 to help us get more than just a simple majority of Democrats in the Senate.]( Thank you for joining me in this existential fight to save our democracy and accomplish more of the goals expressed in the survey. With my very best wishes to you and your family, –Carole [Carole King]( King is a singer-songwriter, author, and activist. Her distinctions include a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, a Kennedy Center Honor, and double-induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now Carole is using her platform to help elect an expanded Democratic Senate majority. And yes, Carole really did write this email. [Donate](    [Chip in $5 monthly to defend the Senate]( --------------------------------------------------------------- The DSCC is the only committee solely dedicated to supporting Democrats in the U.S. Senate, and our work relies on grassroots supporters like you.
