Welcome to the 614th Digital Photography Review newsletter.
Following the publication of our in-depth Nikon D5 review last week we've been focusing on some of the smaller - but equally impressive - products to come out in the past few months. This week it was the turn of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 and Canon PowerShot G7 X II, as Dan and Carey took both cameras out and subjected them to some pretty demanding real-world shooting environments - full reviews coming soon.
Mosh pits and sunsets: Shooting with the Panasonic GX85
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 is a capable mid-range interchangeable lens camera with some neat tricks up its sleeve. DPReview's Dan Bracaglia took the GX85 out shooting in two very different shooting environments - a music festival and a beach picnic.

Leica has announced the availability of a pair of adapters for its SL full frame mirrorless camera that will allow users to fit lenses from the S medium format system and to use microphones and headphones when shooting video. [Samsung announces ruggedized Galaxy S7 Active]

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is a ruggedized "Active" version of the standard Galaxy S7. The Active comes with the same IP68 rating for water resistance as the standard device, but adds the MIL STD-810G standard and a shatterproof display to the mix.[Read more]
