{NAME}, I continue to be extremely optimistic about our chances to win the Mississippi governor

[Right Side of History]( {NAME}, I continue to be extremely optimistic about our chances to win the Mississippi governor’s race this fall — especially now that one of the other organizations I work with, New Southern Majority, is getting involved in the race too and about to kick off an ad campaign. Things are not going well for Republican incumbent, Tate Reeves, who is embroiled in the state’s $77 million welfare scandal. That money that was intended for Mississippi’s poor and low wealth citizens. Instead, it went to associates of Reeves, including campaign donors and his fitness trainer, who alone received $1.3 million. And to make matters worse, Reeves has taken actions that make it look like he has something to hide — he fired the prosecutor investigating the scandal and his administration hamstrung the independent audit that was also investigating — a deputy in the State Auditor’s office called it a “whitewash.” It may still be spring, but New Southern Majority is ready to make its opening salvo in the race — they'll soon be launching their first attack ad about Reeves’ corruption. Please make a donation to help them get this ad up and running. [Watch the ad here:]( It’s no surprise that polls show that Reeves is in trouble — some even have him trailing. This scandal has received national attention, and the Mississippi reporter who broke the story just won the Pulitzer Prize. I could go on about Reeve’s corruption and his policies that harm Mississippians — I shudder to think how he’ll further restrict reproductive rights in his second term — but I’d rather tell you about his opponent, Brandon Presley, because winning this race also requires having a great candidate. Brandon is a man of integrity and has used his career in public service to improve the lives of people in his state. He got his start at 23 when he was elected one of the youngest Mayors in Mississippi history, and has since worked as a Public Service Commissioner expanding internet access to rural communities and cutting utility costs. Simply put. Brandon Presley is a man of public service and action and Tate Reeves is a man of public corruption. Democrats can win in the South — and we have in multiple elections over the last several years. And we can even win in Mississippi. Democrats continue to gain ground in statewide elections, and Republican mediocrity has gotten so bad that their own voters are turning on them. And that’s how we win this election — we need to run ads that remind Mississippi voters, and especially Republican voters, that Reeves' is knee deep in the $77 million scandal and appears to be engaging in a coverup. [I’m hoping that you’ll make a split donation today with Right Side of History to support our work, and our partner organization, New Southern Majority, which will run the ad (they are a progressive independent expenditure committee focused on Southern elections whose board I serve on).]( This is the year we make a stand in Mississippi and begin expanding the map in the South like we’ve done in Georgia. We have a great candidate for Governor and his challenger has already lost the confidence of voters. Help us make history today. -Doug Paid for by Right Side of History PAC.
