Thanks to people like you who’ve stood by us this year, we can make sure the dogs who spend Christmas with us have an extra special day, just like they might in their forever home. [The stockings are hung] Many of us like to spoil our dogs at this time of year, and at Dogs Trust we’re no exception. Staff at our rehoming centres have hung stockings on every kennel door — we know our pups have all been good this year, so we can’t wait to see what gifts they receive. [The presents are wrapped] Our volunteers have been as busy as Santa’s elves, wrapping presents for our pooches. We don’t know what we’d do without our volunteers, who give up their free time to help dogs. And we appreciate every kind donation and gift we’ve received. [Our volunteers go the extra mile for our dogs] Michelle has been volunteering at Dogs Trust Manchester since it opened in 2014. Since then, she's volunteered every week and cleaned countless kennels, washed thousands of towels and walked hundreds of miles with our dogs. [The fire is roaring] If our centres had cosy fireplaces, you’d find us warming up there after taking the dogs for their daily walkies. Come rain or shine (or even snow) we make sure our dogs get enough exercise to keep them fit and healthy. [The sprouts are steaming] Fabulous food is such a big part of festive celebrations, and we know how much dogs love a treat. So we make sure they don’t miss out by giving them an extra special Christmas dinner. [Foster carers give dogs a home from home] All year round our amazing foster carers open up their homes and their hearts to our dogs. Dogs like Major, who need extra TLC and home comforts while they wait for their forever home. Major will be spending Christmas with the Buckley family, with his own special dinner and lots of presents too. For the dogs in our care, their greatest wish will be to find a forever home. In the meantime, they’ll be safe with us for as long as it takes. Thank you so much for your support in 2021. We wish you a joyful holiday and a Happy New Year. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
