No matter your reason, I'm proud to have you with us in this fight. Now, I'm asking you to take the most impactful step possible…   Lately, I've had a lot of people telling me that for the first time in their lives, they're paying attention to the fight for state legislatures. Maybe that even describes you. Maybe you realized that even Democratic control of the White House and Congress isn't stopping the flood of devastating bills coming from Republican-dominated state legislatures, from abortion bans, to "Don't Say Gay" laws, and more. Or maybe you started wondering why sparkly federal races raise millions of dollars, like the over $90 million raised by Amy McGrath for her longshot Senate race in Kentucky – while local and state races are neglected. Or maybe you realized that the Supreme Court's recent ruling in Dobbs – sending abortion rights to the states – or even their recent decision curbing the EPA's regulatory authority means that party control of state legislatures is becoming more and more critical by the minute. No matter your reason, I'm proud to have you with us in this fight. And I'm here to ask you to take the most impactful step possible by [starting a monthly gift of $7, or whatever fits your budget, to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.]( I realize I'm making a big ask of you, so please – give me a chance to explain exactly why a monthly gift makes such a difference: We got to this moment because Republicans have been investing big in state legislatures for over a decade, while Democrats have largely ignored them. Reversing that kind of advantage doesn't happen over a year or even an entire electoral cycle – it takes sustained investment over a period of years. That's what makes our base of monthly donors so powerful. Unlike the waves of donations that come in after big news moments, our monthly donors provide a reliable, consistent base of support we can count on month after month. That means we can budget, strategize, and plan far into the future – exactly the capability our party needs when taking on Republicans' decade-long advantage at our ballot level. And, even if you're just concerned about winning the election that's right in front of us (don't worry, I understand!), know that a monthly gift – of any amount – started today has a far greater impact than the sum of those gifts donated right before Election Day. That's how much early, consistent support matters. With you by our side, we're making targeted investments in-state, building organizing power, testing which messages resonate most, and reaching every voter – and with your monthly gift, we can ramp up this work earlier and in even more states to have as big of an impact as possible. [So, I've got to ask: Will you start a monthly gift to the DLCC today? As the official party committee dedicated to electing Democrats to state legislatures, your monthly donation will make you one of the strongest supporters in our party's most important fights happening right now.]( [DONATE MONTHLY >>]( The road ahead won't be easy or straightforward, but the fights that matter most never are. I'm committed to doing everything in our power to win, and I can't thank you enough for being a part of this. Together, Jessica Post President Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee [DLCC President Jessica Post]( P.S. Here's something I'm always telling my team: "The best time to get involved in the fight for state legislatures was 2010. The second best time is now." It's true – which is why I'm hoping you'll [start a monthly gift to the DLCC today](.
