I knoooooow. The title comes across a little bit rude and so you've clicked it to see what it's all about. BUUUUT this is exactly it. You're not advertising your music properly. ... louder for the people at the back! When you're pushing people over to Spotify, you can see that lots of people have clicked the link, but it's resulted in very little streams. We are coming across so desperate for people to listen to the music, that all we're doing is saying "PLEASE LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AND CLICK THIS LINK" And the person seeing the ad is like I know where Spotify is, tell me WHY I want to rather than just telling me to. Think about it this way... I know that you HATE being advertised to. You know where something is and if you want it, you'll go get it. Now... All we're doing is the SAME THING to someone else. Everyone KNOWS where they can get their music. What they don't know yet is WHY they want to listen to your music. Someone coming completely out of the blue and saying "here's my song listen to it please" gives someone no reason as to why they actually want to. So the key to advertising your music is to advertise in a WAY THAT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE AN ADVERT! Your advert has to feel like normal content. None of this "please pre-save or stream", put in genuine emotion, intrigue and interest. Or at least wrap it up in a different way with context. An example could be... "hey, if you like artists like X, X and X, I think you might like me too". No ask, just putting your music in context of why someone else MIGHT like it. This is the NUMBER ONE reason why your ads aren't landing. It isn't technicalities, it's in what you're putting out there and thinking about what YOU WANT instead of what THE OTHER PERSON wants. Next time you're scrolling and being advertised to... think about how you feel when you see it and emulate that when you're wanting people to listen to your music. NOW WHAT I COULD SAY NOW IS....
