I've removed the free trial, here's why

I have removed the free trial from my Academy. And in this email I'm going to explain 3 reasons why I've done that. I've been getting a lot of emails recently saying... - "Damian where is the free trial, you've lied to me" - "Damian, give me more stuff for free" And - "Damian why are you so devilishly handsome whilst also being incredibly funny" Ok fine, you caught me with the last one. On a serious note (as this is a serious email, or at least I'll try to make it a serious email), I have removed the free trial from the Academy. I will tell you EXACTLY why I've done that, because on the internet, everyone expects someone to be conning them out of something every 5 minutes and I pride myself on being as transparent as possible. I just don't have the energy to be anything other than honest, it always comes back to bite you at a later date. And quite frankly, I also ALWAYS try to do my best to be a decent human. Story time... 👇 I originally put in the free trial because I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to get free education at the highest level, no matter what. I have ALWAYS kept my pricing incredibly low (where else can you get 50+ hours of courses from someone who built a University for a few trips to Starbucks a month?) and I figured that everyone would really appreciate that I've given away SO much for SO little. Which to be fair, a lot of people do. You only have to look at my homepage to see how many people I've helped with their music career (it'll take a while to get through all the comments!) and I have 200K subscribers on YouTube for a reason. I give everything I have. So I figured that giving even more away for free would only make me the good guy. But sadly... I was wrong 🤷 Here are three reasons as to why I've made the decision to remove the free trial... The first reason is PEOPLE KEEP STEALING MY WORK 💀 It is as simple as that. It's got worse over time, I keep seeing random people pop up everywhere using education that I HAVE CREATED and passing it off as theirs. It's the same as someone literally stealing your song, performing it as theirs and saying they wrote it. It is infuriating and there's only so much you can take. I can't stop theft, but I can stop them having it for nothing. At the VERY LEAST give me $29 for it for just one month of DK Music Business Academy. The second reason is NO ONE TAKES ANY ACCOUNTABILITY ANYMORE 🤯 It's always been very clear, you get 7 Days Free and if you don't cancel within that time, you will be charged for it. I think that is a very fair system and a lot of the time, people who can't afford it can do exactly that, get the education and cancel in time. But it has been attracting bad apples who forget to cancel at the end of the 7 days and INSTEAD of going "my bad I'll keep it for a month", they actually send me vile messages saying it's my fault (with a lot of swear words) and that I'm the worst human they've ever met. They send horrible messages to my team and then I have to step in (obviously they then apologise), but it's terrible morale for me and my team and quite frankly we don't deserve it. Save that for the sharks charging to $2000 for a product they've probably stolen from me to begin with.  It seems for some people, it's too hard a task to ask people to take accountability for their actions. If you sign up for something, it's on you to make sure you do what you want to do.  The third reason is IT FUELS ENTITLEMENT ⏰ We live in a world of WHAT'S NEXT. Something good happens, we're happy for 20 minutes and then we're already onto the next thing. Instant gratification is the worst thing to have happened to the world. I am giving too much away for free to the point that people don't actually respect JUST how much I'm doing for a very small amount of money. I don't want to be "that guy", but I built a University with dozens of hit records that came from that University. You can look up BIMM anytime.  NO ONE else has the same education credentials in the industry as I do. That isn't arrogant, it's fact.  I have CHOSEN to give a lot for free (which is me being accountable) and I have also chosen to create an online University, at 99.99% of the cost of getting worse education at a real University. I made this decision because I didn't want money to be a factor as to why you couldn't get what you needed. I could earn more by charging a higher price, but not everything is about money - this is about legacy and being the best at what I do. But whilst some people are totally aware and incredibly appreciative, others are seemingly entitled and just go "why don't I get EVEN more for $29". You mean... After 50+ hours of degree level courses, access to me and my team PERSONALLY, weekly live sessions where you can directly ask me about your music AND all of my resources that save you HOURS and probably thousands too, you need more for $29?! Honestly, it's wild. To be fair, those people probably say the same about absolutely everything they do and I feel sorry for them because life has to be pretty miserable when you're constantly thinking you deserve better. So anyway.... I've made the decision to remove the free trial. Either join the Academy and work with me, or don't. It's straight forward and hopefully keeps these types of people out, because I just don't want to work with them.
