It's story time... When I founded BIMM, the Music University, I was the music industry guy that was in-between the industry and education. I helped artists every single day with their career and in the first few years of BIMM we had over 10 Top 20 singles in the UK alone. It was always the one thing I loved doing and over time as BIMM got larger, I was in more meetings with lawyers and bank managers rather than helping students get ahead.  When I sold my shares in BIMM, I missed helping artists. I started my YouTube channel (around 6 years ago) and I did what I used to do every day at the University. But I noticed that more and more people started asking me about social media, rather than the industry. I soon became the social media music guy rather than the music industry guy! As time has gone on, I've leant into this and last year I helped a friend of mine get 1M views organically in a week. From this, several management companies, labels and artists reached out to me and started asking if I could do this for their artists in a more official capacity. I've always consulted with labels (more so as the channel has grown) but being hands on for artist's socials was never something that was in the plan. I was hesitant because having an "agency" was never something I wanted, I love helping artists and being tied into that agency model was never something that appealed to me. Buuuuuuuuuut... They twisted my arm! But only if I was going to be personally involved with every artist that I work with. So as of today my new baby, DK Social House is being born. So not only will I teach you how to build your career in music yourself, there's also now an option where we can work together in a more hands on way. Each artist is different, which is why I take a more personal approach in mapping out the exact strategy, creating the content and executing it with my small team. Now, I won't be "selling" SH in any further emails because it's predominantly for labels and management, but I will be opening up spots for independent artists. I'm going to be up front and transparent, I will not be able to work with most of you in SH (this is because I need to make sure I can get great results and there may be a plethora of reasons as to why that may not be possible and I only have a limited amount of time). I'm really excited about this new development and regardless of whether we work together in DK Social House, DK Music Business Academy or elsewhere, I'm incredibly proud to be part of your journey.
