The uncomfortable truth

This is a bit of a tough email to write and I know you also may not receive this well. But I wouldn't be the no BS person I am if I didn't send this. I came across a quote from Mark Manson which will hit home pretty hard. "We are inconsequential cosmic dust, bumping and milling about on a tiny blue speck." Mind blown. What this means is what you do doesn't matter. Whether your music does well or not, the Universe doesn't care. We are all alive on this planet for a short space of time, creating purposes for ourselves and telling ourselves that we're trying to achieve our dreams. So now you might be thinking... "If it doesn't matter then why should I even bother?" Because it still matters to you. Waking up and bringing purpose into your life matters to you. But your purpose means absolutely nothing to someone else or anything else outside of your immediate circle. And when we really bring that in, it's the most powerful and incredible tool imaginable. - Who cares whether one person on Instagram didn't like your song. - Or who cares that your neighbour thinks you're a bit weird that you're releasing your music at 65. - Or who cares about whether you're where your parents think you should be in life. It doesn't matter what they think. And it doesn't matter whether you succeed or not.  We're on this planet for a really small amount of time. So give it your all and go for it. For you. No one else. Thinking like this will change your life. Quite frankly, the judgement of others can do one. You do what you love and keep pushing for your goals. No one else is going to do it for you and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks either. Lastly, don't be scared. Fear only comes from not knowing what comes next. Fear cripples you from chasing your dreams and prevents you from making the most of your life. Once you die, you're not going to remember for the number of times you failed or for every mistake you made. So make the most of your time and dedication right now and chase for what you want. It’s down to YOU and what YOU want from life. Stop caring about what doesn’t matter and is too small for you. Start taking action and building the life you want to live. If you want to release that song, release it. If you want to spend three hours adjusting that snare sound, do it. If you want the world to hear your music, get started.
