Boy, did I almost have a a freakout earlier this week. Check out this screenshot below for one of our daily email lists. [Turn On Images] Above shows email open rates plummeting from 22%+ all the way down to 2% range. Enough to make any marketer cry. Now you can see from the most recent send (at the very top), we were able to recover and are now heading back towards 25% open rates. So what happened? Beats me. But I was ready to blame my email service provider who took their merry ole time to reply to my urgent ticket. But I dug in deeper and found that there was an issue with our DMARC records. A simple space in the wrong place of your DMARC record can wreck havoc. I'm not sure how it happened, but at least it's fixed and readers are now seeing our emails and emails sales are back to normal. This got me thinking of you. If email marketing is an important part of your online business, then it's vital that you understand email deliverability. Most people don't understand the technical side of email marketing and wonder why they can't generate sales from email. Guess what? It's hard to make sales if your emails are landing in the dreaded spam box. I did a workshop on email deliverability a very long time ago, but I managed to find the replay.
