Surprising news from WhatsApp, YouTube and more.... ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Hey, {NAME} Sorav here! Here's our "New Things in Digital" newsletter for the week. Also, learn the best ways of scaling your business with the latest marketing automations in 2022, tonight at 9 PM. [Register here!]( 1. Instagram extends the character limit for the name in the bio : This may seem like a small change, but the "name" line of your bio is the MOST SEARCHABLE area beside your actual username. I recommend using the "name" line as a way to give your account a title. It’s important to use words that people would search for! You can only change this line 2 times every 14 days! So have your name change planned out before pressing editing! 2. WhatsApp announces 'Communities' to improve group chats: Users will be able to join different groups under one community. A community can be a school, local bar, restaurant, business, religious congregation, etc. Using this newly launched feature, users will be able to receive community updates and easily organize small discussion groups on topics they care about. In addition, admins will be able to send announcement messages that can be sent to everyone, as well as control which groups can be included in them. 3. YouTube rolls out new 'Search Insights' for all creators: This will provide new data points to help you refine your YouTube strategy based on what people want from the app. Search Insights will provide info on the key topics of interest among your viewers, along with the overall search volume of each, and the amount of traffic that your channel has gleaned based on each query. 4. Instagram launches new 'Use Template' feature in Reels: Upon clicking Use Template, you can use the template used in the Reels. 5. YouTube introduces new options for automated captions: The YouTube Studio app makes it easier for creators to create and edit subtitles for their videos. There’s a new option to add a ‘Subtitles editor’ role within the app so that you can grant access to a third party to manage subtitles on your clips. It's worth noting that YouTube also offers automatic subtitles on all uploads, but since they're automated, they're not always accurate, which is especially true for certain languages, so this option would be a good choice. 6. Twitter launches improved image descriptions globally: Image descriptions or alt text improve the accessibility of images for people with no or low vision, users who use assistive technology such as screen readers that render images or text as verbal or braille output, or the ones who live in the low-bandwidth areas. Such users would be able to access a description such as "Two people seated at a dining table" or "A white coffee mug" by clicking the "ALT" button. Public ALT badges and exposed image descriptions are the new features launched on Twitter on Android, iOS, and the Web. Public ALT badges and exposed image descriptions are the new features launched on Twitter. The platform developed these features by working on a user concern garnered on the requirement of improving accessibility on images for differently-abled users and ones located in low-network areas. 7. Google tests the audio option in the 'People Also Ask' section: In the "people also ask" section of Google, there appears to be a new feature that lets you hear Google read you the results of those snippets. There is a speaker icon to the left of each snippet. 8. Bing tests sub-snippets below main snippets for page insight feature: Bing is now experimenting with placing a sub-snippet below the main snippet for the page insights feature. The light bulb next to the snippets would show you third-party information from other sources, unrelated to the snippet itself. Did we miss out on any significant updates?
