Timely and tactical marketing ideas delivered to your inbox every Monday morning Issue #60 | November 16, 2020 If you own a business, or have ever taken a basic business class, then you’re probably familiar with the 3 Ps. People. Product. Process. According to the [guiding principle of the 3 Ps]( managing these three most important factors of a business will help you find unchallenged success. They are the building blocks that help construct a successful business and simplify your strategies. But why don’t the 3 Ps alone take your business as far as it needs to go? Turns out, there is a fourth P that nobody mentioned. 😱 Until now. *dun dun dun* As important as your people, product, and process are, your positioning is just as important. Being able to sell eventually comes down to psychology, and our brains are programmed to forget things that don't matter. So positioning is about figuring out how to frame and advertise your product in a way that makes it more appealing to your audience. Deprioritizing positioning is a mistake that a lot of new business owners make, but it is arguably the MOST important 'P' because it allows your customer to better understand your product. And the faster someone understands, the more likely they are to buy! So, we are taking a few tips from Donald Miller and breaking down this [forgotten 4th P of business]( so you no longer wonder why you’re struggling even though you’re doing everything else right. Listen In We love our podcasts at DigitalMarketer, and we especially love when our hosts get to explore the behind-the-scenes marketing tactics with industry experts across the globe! On this season of Perpetual Traffic, Amanda Powell and Ralph Burns have been diving into strategies that will not only bring you more traffic, but also more conversions. From [video content with Joseph Wilkins]( Founder of Funny Sales Videos, to [WordPress implementation with]( Vogelpohl]( VP of Growth at WP Engine, they're really digging in. [Tune in tomorrow]( for our next episode with our very own Ryan Deiss. They'll be chatting all about how to build a predictable selling system, so you can be fully prepared for the new year!   INSIDE FIVE What’s the secret of a really good Black Friday email? Since the urgency-factor is already baked into the holiday (Friday eventually becomes Saturday, after all), and your customers are certainly aware that Black Friday means SALE in flashing red lights, the only work us marketers need to do is give them what they’re hungry for: a good deal. 🤤 Really Good Emails has a treasure trove of how brands across the spectrum are doing just that. [Take a look for yourself](. It’s a great reminder that, on at least one day out of the year, simplicity works just fine. If the last time you stepped inside a retail store was March, you’re not alone. But if you’re a marketer, and that fact sends a shiver of panic down your spine, you’re also not alone. But there is some good news... Shoppable media is on the rise. The ability to actually make a purchase within a video, or live stream, or shoppable ad may be the [saving grace for retail this year](. And don’t worry about this being "just a fad." These kinds of purchasing opportunities are becoming more popular with consumers as well as marketers. So feel comfortable staying home and know that buying (or selling) from your couch is easier than ever. Do you feel weird when you search something on the internet and then you start receiving related advertisements? Maybe it’s an ad for a new car after you search how to fix an engine, or ads for bakeware after looking up recipes. Marketing personalization is widely used in marketing strategies, and although a lot of companies come across as borderline creepy with their tactics, it continues to produce a positive ROI for businesses. So what if you could personalize... but not in a creepy way? It takes extensive data segmentation and lots of creativity, but the potential for growth is worth all the time and effort. Fortunately, you can learn exactly how to perfect your skills and integrate personalization into your next strategy with [these simple tips](. No matter your feelings about Facebook as a company, you have to admit they do one thing better than anyone and that’s connection. That’s why we’re keeping eye on their [Facebook Accelerator: Connectivity program](. It’s possibly one of the best things they’ve churned out recently with a goal I think we can all appreciate: helping businesses succeed. During the program, [20 businesses will participate]( in a 12-week virtual program that aims to help them scale their operations using trainings, workshops, access to experts, and meetings with possible strategic partners and investors. February brings a demo day where they showcase their work and progress. Facebook is hoping this will strengthen emerging startups amid the pandemic while simultaneously allowing people to seamlessly connect. We're cheering on all businesses involved! 🎉 Big news for SEOs: Starting in May 2021, ["]( web vitals"]( are officially becoming ranking signals. Google is now considering these page experience signals, meaning that crawlers will soon measure how users are experiencing speed, response time, and stability of a web page. As for the signals outside the core web vitals... those include mobile-friendliness, safe-browsing, HTTPS safety, and intrusive interstitial guidelines. The good news is that none of this is particularly new information. SEOs have been optimizing for these signals for years now, thankfully. That said, if you're new to the search game, you can use tools like [GTmetrix]( to help you fix any errors on your site, and you'll be a Google Wizard in no time! SWIPE FILE If you're still searching predicable growth in 2020, sit back take a little breather! 😌 [The Growth Flywheel]( is a 3-part video series that will help you bring in more customers, find more opportunities in your business, and grow your sales. And the best part is that it's 100% FREE! Learn from Ryan Deiss how you can start to grow your business so you can stop spinning your wheels and start moving the needle toward more predictable sales!  Share The Insider Newsletter And Earn Rewards!
