As Trump echoes language of the Third Reich, calling his opponents “vermin” whom he will ?

As Trump echoes language of the Third Reich, calling his opponents “vermin” whom he will “root out” to be “crushed,” TV news must call out the violence of his dehumanizing rhetoric. [Democracy for America Advocacy Fund](#) {NAME}, Trump’s incendiary language is worsening as he adopts full deposed dictator mode. Now, less than a year out from the 2024 election, he is already taking whole pages from Hitler’s speeches to rouse the masses against the “enemy within,” which he says is so much more dangerous than any external enemies. He is calling his MAGA followers to wage what could become actual violence against progressives, people of color, and LGBTQ+ Americans, and the TV news networks must step up and hold him accountable. And it’s not just his language, but also his post-election plans that are focused on violence and retribution against his enemies. We need to take him at his word when he says that, if elected, he will “root out” the “radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.” Immigrants, meanwhile, who he says are “poisoning the blood of our country,” will be rounded up into camps in what he calls “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history,” based on “the Eisenhower model,” which was known at the time by the offensive ethnic slur, “Operation Wetback.” Trump says he will wipe out his enemies “once and for all.” When Hitler used this kind of language to channel the White Power anger in 1930’s Germany, the “final solution” he enacted involved one of the most horrendous genocides in world history. [Yet despite the fact that Trump has entered a new level of violent rhetoric, the news networks continue to give him a “free pass,” letting his horrific comments slip by as if they were routine and predictable. Sign the petition today to tell the news networks: Stop giving Trump a free pass!]( [Add Your Name]( We can’t become desensitized to Trump’s hate speech, nor to his broader anti-democratic intentions. It became clear from his ultimately violent attempts to hold onto power after losing the 2020 election, that Trump does not ever intend to let go of power, regardless of the outcomes of millions of votes. This is not the only anti-American rhetoric from Trump that has gone unchallenged. He says he will use “ideological screening” to turn away any immigrants who don’t like “our religion.” So much for the First Amendment. He has compared immigrants to fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter; he has called for shoplifters to be shot, drug dealers to be given the death penalty, and his former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to be executed for treason. We know Trump well enough to know by now that he is not exaggerating when he says he will “lock up” his opponents, who have committed the one unforgivable crime: obstructing Trump in his single-minded drive to power. At this point, responsible news coverage must clearly state the obvious: the Republican front runner is calling for violence against fellow Americans, and it must stop. [Sign the petition and tell the TV news networks: They must do a better job of calling out Trump’s violent plans and rhetoric.]( Thank you for helping to counter the casual acceptance of Trump’s hate speech by the mainstream media. - Amanda Advocacy Fund Democracy for America Advocacy Fund [Power This Campaign]( Democracy for America Advocacy Fund is a 501c4 organization.
