Trader Joe’s has been retaliating against union organizers and refusing to negotiate in good faith. Will you pledge to join a customer strike if one is called? [Democracy for America Advocacy Fund](#) {NAME}, Trader Joe’s is the worker-friendly, “good vibes” grocery, right? Isn’t that where you might find the staff dancing to upbeat music as they stock the shelves? Trader Joe’s may be a source of good vibes -- until the workers start organizing, that is! In fact, in spite of their worker-friendly image and stated community-building values, Trader Joe’s has been busting the union organizing efforts at the first of their stores to seek unionization. Even though organizing has begun at only a few Trader Joe’s stores, employees have had to open more than 50 unfair labor practice cases with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), most of which are still in their early stages. Allegations include retaliatory scheduling, suspending, and firing of employees who discuss working conditions or even express support for a union, subjecting employees to coercive interrogations about their union activities, and refusing to meet with new unions that have been established by winning a union election. [Will you pledge your support for a potential customer strike against Trader Joe's if one is called? Sign the pledge today and demand the company end its union-busting practices and seek to engage in genuine, good-faith negotiations with its employees.]( [Sign the Pledge]( In one case decided in March, the National Labor Relations Board found Trader Joe’s guilty of illegally suspending and firing a worker at a Houston store who raised concerns about workplace policies. As a result, the company was not only required to reinstate the worker but also provide back pay. Your pledge is an important statement of support, and it can be a catalyst for change. A customer strike is a compelling way for consumers to voice solidarity with the workers who are fighting for their rights, fair compensation, and a workplace that aligns with the company’s proclaimed values of integrity, sustainability, and community care. [When you sign the pledge,]( you show the company that its customers expect it to treat its workers fairly and equitably. Thank you for standing up for justice in the workplace. - Amanda Amanda Ford, Director Democracy for America Advocacy Fund [Power This Campaign]( Democracy for America Advocacy Fund is a 501c4 organization.
