In the wake of the January 6th insurrection, and with Trump facing multiple criminal charges, it is more urgent than ever that we disqualify him from running for president again. [Democracy for America Advocacy Fund](#) {NAME}, Our democracy has weathered wars, depressions, and civil unrest, and yet it might face its greatest test yet thanks to Donald Trump. An existential threat from within, Donald Trump continues to undermine its very foundations with baseless claims, divisive rhetoric, and dangerous threats against the rule of law upon which our nation was built. Trump has been indicted on three separate occasions. Once for mishandling sensitive national documents and obstruction of justice. A second time for falsifying business records and violating campaign finance law by paying hush money to a porn star. These aren’t just bureaucratic oversights or minor lapses in judgment. They point to a systematic disregard for the values and laws that bind us as a nation. But it’s the third indictment that without question disqualifies Donald Trump from running for President. The Constitution is clear. No one who after taking a pledge to uphold the Constitution who then engages in insurrection can ever hold office in the U.S. Government again. The evidence presented by special counsel Jack Smith in Trump’s most recent indictment paints a grim picture. This isn’t about political rivalries or disagreements. Trump -- knowing it was against the law -- tried to manipulate the system in order to cling to power even when he knew he had lost. [He was willing to destroy our democracy for political power. Now, we must protect the foundations of our nation by ensuring he never has the power to do so again. Tell Congress to disqualify Trump from running for President now.]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( It's essential to understand that Trump’s actions aren't political maneuvers or strategies to gain an upper hand in the political arena. They are criminal and if left unchecked, would irreparably erode the trust and integrity of our national institutions. Recognizing and addressing his systematic disregard for democracy is not about partisan politics; it's about preserving the very fabric of our nation. The truth is, if Trump is permitted another shot at the presidency, the repercussions could be even more dire than his previous tenure. Empowered by past misdeeds and emboldened by a sense of impunity, he would use his influential platform to install people loyal to him, not the American people, any every level of government. Such unchecked influence would catalyze his fervent, extremist supporters into actions of heightened aggression, posing an even greater threat to the fabric of our democratic society than the January 6th insurrection. The 14th Amendment lays out, in unambiguous terms, the consequences for those who, having sworn to protect our Constitution, then seek to betray it. We have the tools in our arsenal to counter this threat, but it requires collective action, unwavering vigilance, and an unwavering commitment to the values that define our democratic ethos. [Sign the petition to Congress: Disqualify Trump from running for President now.]( We must rise in defense of our democracy until Trump is held responsible for his actions. - Amanda Amanda Ford, Director Democracy for America Advocacy Fund [Power This Campaign]( Democracy for America Advocacy Fund is a 501c4 organization.
