Republicans are pushing a dangerous voter suppression bill under the guise of election security. [Democracy for America Advocacy Fund](#) {NAME}, Republicans are trying to sneak through a last-minute voter suppression scheme in the form of the so-called Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. This bill is nothing more than a direct attack on American democracy. Under the guise of "safeguarding elections," the SAVE Act would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections, a requirement that would disproportionately disenfranchise millions of voters, especially minorities, low-income citizens, and naturalized Americans. This bill is a full-on attempt to remove voters from the rolls, further marginalizing vulnerable groups. Let’s be clear: this is about rigging the system. If passed, the SAVE Act could wrongfully purge eligible voters who cannot quickly produce documentation, pushing them out of the voting booth. Vice President Kamala Harris and countless voting rights advocates have already sounded the alarm, warning that this bill could have devastating consequences for voting access across the nation. If we don't act now, millions of Americans will face unnecessary hurdles in exercising their fundamental right to vote. [Tell Congress to stand up for every American's right to vote by rejecting the SAVE Act and preserving our democracy!]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( The SAVE Act is nothing more than a ploy to silence American voices. If Republicans succeed in passing this bill, it will be a step back to the dark days of Jim Crow, where the rich and powerful controlled elections and millions of voters were left out of the democratic process. This time, they’re targeting anyone who might not have their citizenship papers readily available, naturalized citizens, elderly voters, and people living in rural areas without easy access to documents. Republicans are weaponizing government shutdown negotiations to force this bill through, but we can’t let them get away with it. We won’t let Republicans tear apart the pillars of our democracy for political gain. [Help keep this dangerous bill from becoming law. Congress must reject the SAVE Act immediately and protect every citizen’s voting rights.]( Together, we can stop this latest attempt at voter suppression. - Amanda Amanda Ford, Director Democracy for America Advocacy Fund [Power This Campaign]( Democracy for America Advocacy Fund is a 501c4 organization.
