After a short visit, I said my goodbyes, and as I left his room, he called out to me and said, "Chris, keep up the good work." It was entirely out of context and seemed an innocuous statement at the time. I chuckled to myself and said: "ok, Dad, I love you, bye!" Less than 24 hours later, [he passed away.]( ["Keep up the good work"]( were the last words he ever spoke to me. It's become my life mantra, and has helped me focus my mission for this newsletter and my upcoming book series of the same name. If you're reading this, perhaps you've encountered my musings on my [personal blog](, enjoyed my [INC column](, or were a subscriber to my agency's newsletter. Maybe we crossed paths at an event I had the pleasure of organizing. Whichever the avenue, I am grateful for the connection we've shared. Should you prefer not to embark on this new chapter with me, I completely understand. A simple reply with "stop" will ensure your email is removed from this list, no questions asked. However, if there's even a sliver of curiosity within you, I invite you to stay. My commitment is to provide you with as much value as I possibly can through these shared words and experiences. "Keep Up the Good Work" is more than a Newsletter, it's a legacy. Our mission is to offer insights, stories, and strategies that inspire resilience and optimism. Whether you're navigating career changes, personal challenges, or new beginnings, our goal is to be a beacon of support and encouragement. We believe that every transition holds the potential for growth, learning, and a renewed sense of purpose. In this weekâs edition: - [Keep Up The Good Work: Navigating Change with Courage]( - [The Untold Neuroscience Behind Emotional Intelligence: This is Why You Should Care]( - [They Psychology of Money: How it Actually Impacts Your Ability to Be Happy]( - [Unpacking the Power of Thoughts]( [Motivation]( Weâre all trying to navigate this crazy journey called life. Some of us are scaling the mountain of [success](, while others may find themselves stuck in a rut. Regardless of where you are, thereâs always room for [improvement](, balance, andâmost importantlyâ[happiness.]( I want to share something Iâve been working on, something I call The Universal Code. Itâs a collection of 13 life-changing principles that can universally apply to anyone and everyone. Iâve written about the universal code in my new book, Keep Up the Good Work. Whether youâre a college student looking for direction or a seasoned professional stuck in a mid-life crisis, these tenets are designed to elevate your existence and bring balance to all facets of your life. Yep, itâs a tall order, but trust me, these principles have the transformative power we all need. [Continue reading here.]( [Leadership]( I recently stumbled upon an intriguing article by Nick Hobson over at Inc. that tackles the scientific truth behind emotional intelligence. This is not your run-of-the-mill, âBe emotionally smart because itâs good for youâ spiel. This dives deep into the neuroscience that propels emotional intelligence. If youâre scratching your head wondering why Iâm enamored by this topic, let me break it down for you. In a world increasingly dominated by AI and algorithms, your Emotional Quotient (EQ) can make you indispensable. But donât just take my word for it; Daniel Golemanâs seminal book [âEmotional Intelligenceâ]( blew the lid off this conversation back in 1995. [Continue reading here.]( [Money]( In todayâs fast-paced world, [understanding money]( is more than just knowing how to earn and save; itâs about understanding the [psychology]( behind it. Morgan Houselâs [âThe Psychology of Moneyâ]( offers timeless insights into the complex relationship we all have with money, emphasizing that our financial decisions are driven more by emotions and biases than by rational calculations. Money is Personal Housel begins by highlighting that money is deeply personal. What might seem rational to one person could appear utterly [irrational]( to another. This is because our financial decisions are influenced by our [personal experiences,]( upbringing, and unique life situations. [Continue reading here.]( [Health & Wellness]( How Your Mental Narrative Drives Your Life Iâve always been a believer in the idea that your mindset can either be your greatest asset or your biggest liability, and this article hits the nail on the head. Thoughts become things? Oh yeah, for sure. That just makes sense. You conceive of something, and then youâre on your way to creating it. I always felt that books like [The Secret]( were a good first step, but that it was much more complex a topic than most gave it credit. Thoughts: Your Invisible Architects The article explores the idea that our thoughts are the invisible architects of our lives. Itâs a complex theme, but also an absolute gem when you unpack it. Daniel Kahnemanâs book, [âThinking, Fast and Slowâ](, sheds more light on how we think and how those thoughts inform our actions, decisions, and eventually our life paths.
