If this e-mail is not displayed properly, click [here.]( Design chat you want to read. [Open in browser]( [Design Cuts]( [Graphics]( [Templates]( [Fonts]( [Add-ons]( [Scrapbooking]( [Affinity]( [Procreate]( [Our Community]( Hi {NAME} This month's Design Cuts community newsletter is packed full of the latest news and chatter from the community. Kick back, relax and dive in... [Creative Prompt]( Join Our 'Creative Prompt' Each week in the Community Hub we post a [creative prompt challenge]( to inspire you to design (or dig out a previously created design) with the prompt in mind and share your artwork with us all in the [Challenges]( space. As May is 'Pet Month', this week's prompt follows this theme and is ['Cat'](. [gallery space]( Announcing The Community Gallery! Designed to highlight work that has stood out to us from the creative prompts and to showcase competition winners, this new [Community Gallery]( space celebrates the achievements, variety, and creativeness of our community. We love it - hope you do too! A Little Community Chatter [Tablet Recommendations]( If you're looking for a little insight into what tablets our community rate and ones they avoid you'll find this chat useful. From Wacom, iPad Pro and Xencelabs you can find out about members own experiences [HERE](. [The Most Versatile Procreate Packs]( With limited budgets and many fantastic resources it can be difficult to know what the best pack is to choose. If you're in search of a versatile Procreate brush pack, there's no shortage of advice. See the conversation [HERE](. [The Impact Of Music On Painting]( A conversation around the impact of music on how you paint. A consideration for choosing tunes to fit the mood of the design project you're working on and how that translates on the page. Find out more about this [HERE](. [procreate layer masks tip]( How To Use Layer Masks In Procreate A tip from our community Design Cutter Jennifer Nichols kindly shared a quick tip and showed us how to use layer masks in Procreate. Check out Jennifer's tip on [YouTube.]( And you can find out more about Jennifer and her learning content here [Leila And Po Studio]( Surprise! Our Product Of The Month Is Pet-tastic In celebration of May being 'Pet Month' we're thrilled to see not just 1, but 5 new pet related packs (originals to Design Cuts) land from Kris Lauren at [Pretty Little Lines](. Each pack is brilliant in its own right and delivers something different, albeit they're all cute and full of the awwww factor, and our community are loving them. Check them out below if you haven't already! [mp 1]( [Raining Cats & Dogs - Pet Illustrations Patterns & Borders]( [mp 2]( [Dog Builder Brushes For Procreate]( [mp 3]( [Cat Builder Brushes For Procreate]( [mp 4]( [Dogs Fur Days - Dog Illustrations Patterns & Borders]( [mp 5]( [Meow And Furever - Cat Illustrations Patterns & Borders]( A Spotlight On 'Share Your Work' Whether you're a regular in our community hub or haven't yet virtually stepped [into the space]( it's always a hubbub of artistic creation and we thought it would be nice to regularly shine a light on some of the work we see - it doesn't have to be perfect to make the cut, as we're all learning, it's just a round up of a few that have stood out and the story behind them... [oil art]( Moving From Traditional To Digital Community member Jordan Blackstone used Nathan Brown's [oil brushes]( for Procreate to create this awesome piece named 'Old Man & The Sea'. Jordan has made the journey from traditional art and is having a lot of fun learning painting again in Procreate - proof that you don't have to do one or the other; mix it up! If you're transitioning/playing from one to the other we'd love to hear about your experiences too. See the original post [HERE](. [First attempts]( The First Foray Into Procreate & Lessons Learnt We all start somewhere and Tormod Halvorsen shared his very first attempt with Procreate, which we think is pretty great. Tormod shared a few lessons learnt along the way too... make sure to start at a good canvas size; he quickly got into trouble adding details and shading to the castle. Also he noted how easy it is to draw/paint on the wrong layer - which takes practice, we've all been there! See the original post [HERE](. [nostalgic art]( The Past Provides Great Inspiration Design Cutter Valarie Brockbank shared a memory from her past of a retro Volkswagen camper van which she spent many weekends playing in with hippy neighbors - and this inspired her piece of art, which is indeed groovy! Remember there's no shortage of inspriation if you look back. See the original post [HERE](. [rosina's art]( Who Cares If You Get The Prompt Wrong Props to Beau_beau1 who made us laugh and created this adorable piece of art. In an attempt to participate in the weekly [creative prompt challenge]( this Design Cutter completely misread the subject matter - which was bunny - and produced a chick! It doesn't matter in the slightest, because this is super creative and we love it and proof inspiration really can come from anywhere. See the original post [HERE](. Every Day Is A School Day... A Fun School! We've rounded up a few of the latest tutorials to arrive in our [Learning Hub]( to help you develop your skills and have a little fun. And, we've rounded up a few of our favourite posts from [Tips & Resources]( too - we hope you enjoy them!
