Last December, Maine mom Amber Lavigne was in her 13-year-old daughter’s room when she found a chest binder — an undergarment used to flatten breasts. ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ Friend, Last December, Maine mom Amber Lavigne was in her 13-year-old daughter’s room when she found a chest binder — an undergarment used to flatten breasts. Amber was alarmed and immediately began to investigate. She was shocked to discover that a school social worker, who had been seeing Amber’s daughter since October, gave the child the chest binder and secretly advised her about gender transitioning. The social worker told Amber’s daughter the school wouldn’t inform her parents about any of it and that she shouldn’t do so either. This was all in violation of the Constitution and Amber’s parental rights. Now the Goldwater Institute is stepping in to hold the school accountable. My name is Victor Riches, President and CEO of the Goldwater Institute, the nation’s leading liberty organization. We provide pro-bono legal support for parents like Amber Lavigne. I’ve set a goal to connect with 500 new donors to fund our American Freedom Network, which provides pro-bono legal support to protect parental rights and stop schools from indoctrinating children. [Friend, will you help us protect the rights of parents by sending a gift of $10, $35, $100, or any amount today? Click here to show your support ]( Amber contacted school officials, only to have the administrators defend the counselor’s actions. She also found out that school personnel had already been referring to Amber’s daughter with a different name and different pronouns. “This is unacceptable: a school employee secretly encouraged my daughter to change her gender and hide it from me. The school never stopped trying to keep me in the dark at every turn, repeatedly stonewalling me when I tried to find out what was going on. My parental rights aren’t up for debate: I deserve to know what’s happening to my child in school.” — Amber Lavigne Now, we’re demanding the school board investigate the counselor’s actions and forcing them to accept parental rights as defined by law. The school’s actions toward Amber and her daughter aren’t just wrong — they’re unconstitutional. Parents have a fundamental right to control and direct their children's education, upbringing, and healthcare decisions. The Goldwater Institute is leading the effort to protect parental rights in courts and force schools to stop this radical trend in gender ideology. [You can help the Goldwater Institute support the rights of parents today with a gift of $10, $35, $50, or even $100. Please help me recruit 500 new donors to the Goldwater Institute this month. Select any amount below to rush your support.]( [Donate $10 ]( [Donate $35 ]( [Donate $50 ]( [Donate $100 ]( [Donate $250 ]( [Donate $500 ]( [Donate $1,000 ]( [Donate Any Amount ]( No other organization has done more to defend parental rights than the Goldwater Institute: - We helped concerned parents get the answers they deserved after school districts charged them thousands of dollars just to find out what was being taught in their kids’ schools. - We’re actively dismantling the power of teacher unions by leading the nation in passing school choice legislation so that kids can receive the education that best fits their needs. - We’re defeating Critical Race Theory (CRT) and woke nonsense in the classroom. - We created the blueprint for conservatives to tie education funding to students instead of sending your tax dollars to radical administrators and school boards. - We’ve transformed Arizona into the most pro-school choice state in the country and brought school choice legislation to 22 other states. As schools try to ramp up woke indoctrination like CRT and gender ideology, the rights of parents are more important than ever. [Your generous support makes a huge difference in our fight for parents’ rights. Please consider donating today. ]( Thank you, Victor Riches President & CEO Goldwater Institute The Goldwater Institute is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization.
