Teen marijuana use down in Colorado
The [latest results from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health]( show teen use is down in Colorado, aligning with data collected by the state's [Healthy Kids Colorado Survey.](
In 2015 - 2016, 9% of Colorado youths aged 12 to 17 reported using marijuana in the month prior to being surveyed. During the 2014 - 2015 period, 11% percent of youths that age reported using marijuana in the previous month.
On the national level, the most recent National Survey on Drug Use and Health[reported that teen marijuana use had fallen to a 22-year low](.
So are adult-use sales
After three consecutive months of $136 million in combined recreational and medical cannabis sales, [Coloradoâs marijuana dispensaries recorded about $121 million in sales during October,]( according to The Cannabistâs calculations based on state sales tax data released Monday.
And one Colorado townâs [25-month cannabis sales streak came to an end]( with the results of September sales announced.
One business wants to do its part to increase adult sales in Denver. A new coffee shop called The Coffee Joint [has filed the city's first application for a social marijuana use permit](.
Denver opened the application process three months ago, but backers of ballot initiative 300, which 54% of Denver voters [approved last year](, have argued that city officials [added too many hassles]( for potential applicants.
