Tonight, President Biden will share his vision for our country as he delivers his State of the Union

Tonight, President Biden will share his vision for our country as he delivers his State of the Union address. [Democrats][Join us.] Tonight, President Biden will share his vision for our country as he delivers his State of the Union address. This is a pivotal moment for our Party as he will highlight his policy solutions and motivations to address our nation’s most pressing issues. Working together, we’ve already made so much progress over the past few years: The Inflation Reduction Act cuts prescription drug costs, tackles climate issues, and makes large corporations pay their fair share in taxes. The PACT Act provides significant benefits for toxic-exposed veterans, fulfilling President Biden’s commitment to serving veterans and their families. The CHIPS and Science Act boosts semiconductor manufacturing, reducing prices and creating jobs in the U.S. The Respect for Marriage Act enshrines marriage equality into federal law. Bidenomics is growing the economy from the bottom up and middle out -- creating good jobs, lowering costs, and achieving the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. These achievements reflect President Biden and Vice President Harris’s dedication to improving the lives of all Americans, and I have no doubt that commitment will be on full display tonight. While we reflect on the progress we’ve made, we also must recognize the work ahead of us this year. We’ve seen the disastrous effects of Donald Trump’s presidency and the threat of the extreme platform he is pushing now. Trump left office with the worst jobs record since the Great Depression and his presidency resulted in an economy favoring the ultra-wealthy, an extreme Supreme Court that ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade, a weakened global standing, and a very real threat to the democratic ideals this country was founded on. And the consequences of another Trump presidency would be far worse: Trump has tried to gut Social Security and Medicare, privately expressed support for a national abortion ban, promised to be a dictator on “Day One,” and more. This year, we cannot afford to let him become president again. We need Democratic leadership to protect our rights and freedoms, and to continue building on the progress we’ve made together.
