Iâd like to take a moment to answer a question I get a lot: How is the DNC putting my donations to work? [Democrats][Join us.] As Executive Director of the DNC, itâs my job to ensure that we have the funding we need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. But most people donât realize that the DNC is funded by grassroots donors -- thatâs people like you, chipping in a few dollars in response to messages like this one. So, Iâd like to take a moment to answer a question I get a lot: What does my donation to the DNC actually do? Well, here are just a few ways your donation could get put to work: 1ï¸â£ Prioritizing our campaigns and state parties
Itâs so important that our partners on the ground in states across the country have everything they need to maintain a strong presence. Thatâs why every month, the DNC invests money into every state party, helping ensure they have consistent resources. This money helps pay for staff, tools, and programming -- not just right before a big election, but year-round. For example, in Michigan, weâve helped fund local events and campus fellowships to help register young voters. And in Arizona and Nevada, we helped support voter engagement through digital and print ads. This type of on-the-ground work in states all over the country is critical -- and weâre proud to play a role in it. 2ï¸â£ Funding innovative organizing
The DNC is constantly innovating our organizing programs. For instance, weâve created a red state fund -- a first-of-its-kind fund that puts Republicans on the defensive and aims to build Democratsâ power in traditionally red states. This includes several million dollars in direct investments in states that need it most. We know Democrats can compete and win everywhere, but we have to continue building our power, not just around an election, but each and every year. 3ï¸â£ Expanding our voter protection work
Here at the DNC, weâve made historic investments in voter education, protection, registration, and the technology that powers it all. We have a voter assistance hotline thatâs monitored by staff members and volunteers who are prepared to answer voter questions about everything from registration to voting machines and more. Weâve created toolkits for things like âdebunking vote by mail mythsâ and webinars that focus on topics like youth voting, helping voters with disabilities, or protecting everyoneâs voting rights in the lead-up to Election Day. The DNC also works with our state party partners to legally defend the right to vote in every election. 4ï¸â£ Supporting our data and technology infrastructure
Strengthening our data and technology is crucial for bolstering Democratic candidates -- but the truth is, a lot of campaigns donât have the resources or time to handle this themselves. Thatâs where we come in. Ensuring our data and technology is as strong as possible helps make Democratsâ work even more efficient. And itâs only possible with your support. Sustained political investments lead to sustained political power -- and at the end of the day, grassroots donors are the heart of our Party and play a key role in electing Democrats nationwide.
