This month we’re honoring the legendary contributions of Black Americans in all sectors. [Democrats][Join us.] Happy Black History Month, Meghan! This month, we put a special focus on the accomplishments of Black Americans and celebrate their legendary contributions in all industries and sectors. Our Black leaders and trailblazers have always been at the forefront of legendary change and historic milestones in this Party and beyond. It’s the courage of Black voices that has propelled this country to where it is. I wanted to take the time today to highlight some key moments in our nation that were made possible by giants like Fannie Lou Hamer, Jesse Jackson, Shirley Chisholm, Ron Brown, and countless others. Their work not only shifted this nation toward a brighter, more equitable future, but paved a path for the historic leadership of Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, and a multitude of Black leaders continuing the fight for a more just society. It was the tireless work of these activists that secured equal voting rights for all Americans, dismantled a brutal Jim Crow system, and made unprecedented advancements in the fields of science, technology, and art alike. Thanks to their work, I’m grateful to say that dismantling broken systems and pushing for a brighter future is now ingrained in the DNA of this nation and this Party. The Democratic Party -- alongside the Biden-Harris administration -- will continue to work steadfastly to expand and protect the rights of all Americans because despite how far we’ve come, our work is far from over. I'm honored to serve as the chair of our Party during such a pivotal time in our nation's history and proud to join a long line of Black excellence in leadership. I urge you all to dive deeper into this rich history, not just this February, but throughout the year. In a time as dire as right now, it can inspire us to take similar steps of action, and fuel us in our hopeful march toward change. Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
