This 21st Century Jim Crow assault is real. It is unrelenting, and we will challenge it vigorously. That’s why Vice President Harris announced the DNC’s I Will Vote initiative. And I signed an executive order to promote voting access and called on Congress to pass legislation to protect the vote. As the late John Lewis said, "Freedom is not a state; it is an act." And we must act, and we will act. I hope you will take this moment to read about I Will Vote and learn more about my priorities → --------------------------------------------------------------- I Will Vote We must continue our work to protect and preserve our democracy. And one of the best ways of doing that is by safeguarding folks’ most fundamental right -- the right to vote. Already, we’ve seen 17 states enact 28 laws that make it harder to vote. The DNC’s new $25 million plan to protect and expand the right to vote will work to register, protect, and educate voters nationwide. [Our democracy is stronger when everyone participates. The DNC is deploying every asset available to ensure every eligible American can access their right to vote, focusing on voter education, registration, turnout, and protection. Kamala Harris.]( We must also fight for the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore and expand voting protections. As soon as Congress passes them, I will sign them. --------------------------------------------------------------- Turning relief into recovery Millions of families all over the country started receiving monthly payments as part of the Expanded Child Tax Credit. This is huge. Parents who are working hard to make ends meet will now have the additional support they deserve. Whether it’s buying school supplies or paying a monthly expense, Democrats are delivering for America’s families and children. Checks in pockets, kids in schools, and shots in arms. That’s the American Rescue Plan at work. --------------------------------------------------------------- America is on the move again Our country is leading the world out of a global pandemic. And, because of folks like you, we’ve created over three million jobs in five months, distributed over 300 million COVID-19 vaccines, and sent over 160 million relief checks through the American Rescue Plan. Video.]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Volunteer with the Democratic National Committee I’ve seen firsthand what this team can get done when we work together. You beat the odds and helped take back the White House, protect our majority in the House, and flip the Senate. But, there are still important elections happening this year -- and of course there’s the 2022 midterm election. It’s critical that we continue to elect Democrats from the school board to the Senate who are committed to moving this country forward. Every call, text, and conversation makes a difference.
