We all need to tell our senators to reject any nominee who won't uphold our Constitution and our basic human rights, and who would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade -- and we need to do it now. [Democrats][Join us.] Friend -- Last week, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement, setting up Donald Trump to make his second appointment to the nation's highest court -- and creating an existential threat to the precedent set by Roe v. Wade that a woman has a constitutionally protected right to an abortion. If Trump fills the vacancy with an extreme conservative, it will solidify a conservative majority on the Supreme Court for generations to come -- and Roe will likely be overturned. We all need to tell our senators to reject any nominee who won't uphold our Constitution and our basic human rights, and who would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade -- and we need to do it now. Add your name right now to demand a fair and qualified Supreme Court justice who will uphold the Constitution, defend human rights, and protect Roe v. Wade. [I'M IN]( We can only move forward as a country when our Supreme Court justices are committed to upholding the Constitution and its promises of equality under the law and freedom from discrimination. A lifetime appointment should not be granted to someone who doesn't hold true to these values. Any attempts at undermining the progress we've made would be beyond devastating for the most vulnerable among us. If Trump is able to stack the Supreme Court with another right-wing extremist, it could ultimately jeopardize the future of everything we stand for -- from voting rights and reproductive rights to workers' rights and LGBTQ rights. For 45 years, Roe v. Wade has guaranteed the right to safe, legal abortion care. Protecting this right all comes down to who sits on the Supreme Court. But it's not just Roe v. Wade -- generations of progress are at stake right now. [Americans deserve a Supreme Court justice who will uphold the Constitution, protect our most basic human rights, and keep Roe v. Wade the law of the land. Add your name if you agree.]( Thank you, Xochitl Xochitl Hinojosa Communications Director Democratic National Committee P.S. It is incumbent on all of us to ensure Justice Kennedy's replacement is someone who believes in an independent judiciary and is determined to protect the constitutional rights of all people.
