Today is the day we take a moment to reflect on "freedom" and what it truly means to be free. Republicans like to say they are the party of "freedom." They've tried to co-opt the term for generations. Ron DeSantis (remember him?) even released an absolutely tortuous rock ballad about "freedom" in Florida (seriously, [watch it here]( 😬). They ban books, restrict speech, make it harder to vote, and block gun safety measures. Republicans want to take away health care and health care choices from Americans. They block paid family and medical leave, taking away the freedom to spend time with loved ones early in life, or when they are sick and need us most.
