I know you probably get a lot of emails, but I hope youâll take just a few moments to read this one. [If youâre already on board, you can donate now to help power the NDRCâs grassroots movement.]( Hereâs what you need to know: First, in 2022, Republicans flipped control of the House of Representatives by a razor-thin margin of just five seats. Ultimately, House control was decided by just a few thousand votes across a handful of districts. Then, earlier this summer, the Supreme Court struck down Alabamaâs map for violating the Voting Rights Act, requiring a new, fair map be put in place before the next election. And now, according to experts, as many as 19 congressional districts across 12 different states could be reshaped ahead of the 2024 elections. Thatâs more than enough to tip control of the U.S. House of Representatives to either party. [This fight isnât far off in the future â it's happening right now and NDRC is the tip of the spear. Dozens of congressional districts are at stake, and we need you with us. [Another amount]( Leading up to the 2022 midterms, supporters like you helped the NDRC lead a comprehensive strategy that secured what the New York Times and others have called âthe fairest congressional map in 40 years.â But depending on what we do over the next few months, this could drastically change. (1) If we grow complacent and allow the GOP to re-secure gerrymandered maps through the courts, Republicans could effectively expand their House margin before a single ballot is even cast in 2024. (2) BUT if we stay committed to this fight, we can stop GOP map manipulation and ensure that Americans will have a fairer, more representative map ahead of a highly consequential election. [Here at the NDRC, weâre determined to do whatever it takes to fight for fairness in our elections â but our success or failure depends on your continued support. Can I count on you to do your part to strengthen our democracy by donating today?]( Remember, A.G. Holder has often said âWherever Democrats can fairly compete, they can win.â I hope youâll donate today to help the NDRC secure a level playing field for 2024. â Biz John Bisognano
