But the fight isn't over]( It’s true, {NAME}, FIRST, the Supreme Court struck down Alabama’s congressional maps for illegally diluting the power of Black votes. The Court’s decision has forced Alabama to draw new maps with an additional majority-Black district – and experts predicted the ruling could “shake up” the 2024 election by leading to even more states being required to redraw their maps. THEN, just a few weeks later, the Court issued another decision clearing the way for Louisiana to draw new maps with an additional district where Black voters can elect the candidate of their choosing. AND, similar challenges in Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas could lead to more gerrymandered maps being struck down. In fact, so many states could be impacted that FiveThirtyEight said, “this decision could be the difference between Republican and Democratic control of the House.” SO NOW, we need to double down on our efforts to secure fair maps across the country!
