Voters were given a choice between fairness or extremism – between the protection of reproductive rights and voting rights or the destruction of both. Our fellow citizens made their voices heard loud and clear by electing Judge Janet Protasiewicz. This is a critical victory for our democracy – and I couldn’t be more proud that our grassroots movement helped make it happen. [A.G. But we never gave up on democracy in Wisconsin. Instead, we went to work to mobilize communities to elect Democracy Defenders, protect voting rights, advocate for fair redistricting, and more. Our efforts have paid off. Together, we proved once again that there is no fight we cannot win when voters are engaged. That’s how our grassroots movement helped bring Wisconsin closer to equal representation this week, and it’s how we’ll continue to win in the ongoing fight to protect democracy all across the country.
