With democracy hanging in the balance, we have to do everything we can to elect candidates who will defend it this November — which is why we’ve come up with a 3-pronged plan to do just that. Defending the integrity of our election infrastructure. The GOP has nominated election deniers for state and local offices responsible for administering our elections, and they’re also recruiting partisan activists to serve as poll workers. We need poll workers who are dedicated to conducting free and fair elections. 2. Defending voting rights in the face of GOP voter suppression. All over the country, the GOP is cracking down on voting rights and making it harder and harder for voters to make their voice heard. Along with our affiliates, we’re fighting to make sure every eligible voter can cast their ballot and have it counted. 3. Supporting pro-democracy candidates up and down the ballot. We’re not exaggerating when we say democracy is on the line this November. From state legislatures to governor’s offices to state supreme courts, we need to make sure we have leaders who are committed to defending our democracy. To that end, we’ve already endorsed 14 outstanding candidates for offices up and down the ballot this year. The good news is we have a time-tested and battle-proven strategy to do all of it. From our launch in 2017 through November 2020, we worked tirelessly to elect fair-map Democrats who would fight to stop GOP gerrymandering. In 2021, we saw that work pay off as the GOP was blocked from further manipulating the maps in state after state. Now our job is to take the infrastructure we built and the knowledge we gained to the mat as we fight to preserve our democracy for the future — but we can’t do it without your help.
