Texas gov. signs horrendous voter suppression law

Not only will this law limit when and how people can vote, but it will criminalize certain Get Out The Vote and voter assistance efforts and empower partisan poll watchers. But how were Texas Republicans able to enact this law? The same way there were they able to enact their hideous abortion ban: The Guardian: "Partisan gerrymandering has empowered a hard-right turn in Texas" [Fight back in Texas and across the country]( It's gerrymandering, {NAME}. The Guardian continues: "A decade ago, Republicans had complete control over the process of drawing the boundaries for state legislative and congressional districts. It allowed them to distort the lines to help Republicans win elections and guarantee their election in the state legislature over the past 10 years. This year the lines will be redrawn again and Republicans once again will have complete control of the process. It’s a power that allows Republicans to make laws without having to worry about alienating Democratic voters." But while Republicans may control the process in states like Texas, Florida, and others, we CAN stop them from repeating 2011 by building public pressure, holding politicians accountable, and supporting plaintiffs in lawsuits where necessary.
