When I think about the music that inspired, drove and centered me, I think about Marvin Gaye. Luther Vandross. The Stylistics. Aretha Franklin — a woman I got to know and loved dearly. And yes, on this past September Saturday, I was thinking about my boys — Earth, Wind, and Fire. In honor of this past 21st night of September, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite songs with dedicated supporters like you: “That’s The Way of The World” - Earth, Wind & Fire “What's Going On” - Marvin Gaye (best album ever!) “So Amazing” - Luther Vandross “Until You Come Back to Me” - Aretha Franklin “Stop, Look, Listen” - The Stylistics [ADD YOUR SONG IDEAS]( This is the music of my youth — a turbulent time, but a time that we got through. A time that gives me hope. We got through it and we made a better America. Now, once again, we have turbulent times. But I'm cautiously optimistic — I think we'll get through it together, as long as we all continue to put our shoulders to the wheel together and do the work. Always remember: positive change is not promised. And we can all use music as a reminder that optimism is possible and joy can still be ours.
