Republicans are already implementing Project 2025’s agenda

The stakes are particularly high for the LGBTQ+ community. Project 2025 targets federal policies that promote equality for the LGBTQ+ community — threatening the health and safety of LGBTQ+ individuals across the country. ACLU-NH describes one of them (HB 1205) as a law that, “categorically bans all transgender girls in grades 5-12 from participating in school sports.” And in Ohio, where we have endorsed three Supreme Court candidates, the Republican-controlled legislature passed HB68, which bans gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth and transgender women and girls from participating in sports. The bill was actually initially vetoed by the Republican Governor, but the legislature overruled that veto. After several months of even more battles in court, the bill is now law in Ohio. Protecting our freedoms is an ongoing battle — and our work will need to continue whether or not Donald Trump is elected.
