I've spent decades helping Democrats win tough races all across our country alongside folks like my friend James Carville. Suffice to say, I know a thing or two about what it takes to win. And this year is a big one. [Please, if you already know what’s at stake in November and beyond, chip in whatever you can right now to help the DGA elect Democratic governors and stop GOP attacks on our fundamental rights. But if you want to know why races like these are so important, please read on.]( Here’s my expert analysis of a few significant 2024 gubernatorial races and the road ahead: - In North Carolina, Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper has spent two terms fighting for good-paying jobs, strong public schools, and access to quality affordable health care – including a historic expansion of Medicaid to more than 600,000 North Carolinians. But he’s term-limited, and far-right extremist Mark Robinson is currently leading the Republican primary – making this a hugely consequential race. - In New Hampshire, GOP Gov. Chris Sununu will not be seeking reelection. Now, Kelly Ayotte – who spent her time in the U.S. Senate pushing to pass a national abortion ban and restrict access to birth control – and Trump-loving state senator Chuck Morse, who was the architect of New Hampshire’s first modern abortion ban, are leading the Republican primary. Key political analysts have changed their ratings of this race from “solid R” and “likely R” to “toss-up” – making this state the DGA’s best pick-up opportunity of the cycle. - And states without incumbents on the ballot are up for grabs in Delaware and Washington. Democratic governors John Carney and Jay Inslee are term-limited and not seeking reelection respectively – so these races cannot be understated. Democrats simply cannot afford to lose states like these to MAGA extremism. Here’s the bottom line: There is a lot on the line this November. Fortunately, the DGA has proven time and time again that Democrats can win anywhere, but only with the help of strong grassroots supporters. That’s where you come in, {NAME}. [With a surge of grassroots support, I know we can win. But I just spoke to my contacts at the DGA, and they said they’re falling dangerously behind on their fundraising goals for this year. So I need you to join me and pitch in $3 or whatever you can right now and have it MATCHED up to the DGA’s $50,000 end-of-month goal to elect Democratic governors and beat back Republican attacks. Can I count on you to chip in before 11:59 p.m. tonight?]( Please use the links in this email to start a monthly donation through ActBlue: [Donate $3 (becomes $6!)]( [Donate $6 (becomes $12!)]( [Donate $12 (becomes $24!)]( [Or donate other amount (becomes DOUBLED!)](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) Thanks for stepping up.
