URGENT PETITION FOR {NAME} Last month, Texas Gov. Abbott signed one of the most restrictive and disgusting abortion bans in the country into law. Now, other Republican governors are following his lead and working to sign similar restrictions. Democrats are fighting back and speaking up for the 8 in 10 Americans who agree that abortion should be legal. But with it under attack across the nation, we need your help to protect reproductive freedom and show Republicans that they’ve made a HUGE mistake. [ADD YOUR NAME NOW]( YOUR SIGNATURE MISSING: 11:59 P.M. DEADLINE. Gov. Abbott’s near-total abortion ban is a horrendous attack on choice – but the Supreme Court’s refusal to block it foreshadows a further erosion of reproductive freedom. Their ruling shows that the conservative majority Court is willing to upend our constitutional rights on a whim, and could very well overturn Roe v. Wade entirely. And now Republican officials in more than half a dozen states are seeking to replicate those heinous restrictions! In the face of this injustice, Democratic governors are the BEST firewall against conservative legislatures pushing through similar bans. Here’s what happens next: - The Department of Justice has filed an EMERGENCY motion to block enforcement of Texas’s near total abortion ban. - Next week, House Democrats led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi will take up the Women's Health Protection Act to protect reproductive freedoms and to defend health care providers’ ability to provide abortion services. - [Democrats come together to STOP abortion bans, including YOU, {NAME}.]( [SIGN ON: Add your name to our petition demanding reproductive freedom!]( We can’t let this blatant attack on reproductive rights and freedoms stand unchallenged. Texas has set the stage for a national fight that could change access to health care in America forever. But we’re missing signatures from 54 New York Democrats, {NAME}! Please speak up before it’s too late. [ADD YOUR NAME NOW]( YOUR SIGNATURE MISSING: 11:59 P.M. DEADLINE. This email was sent to {EMAIL}. To unsubscribe from the DGA email list, [click here](.
