Hi {NAME}, I'm Jay Inslee, governor of Washington state. I'm emailing you today because Republican attacks on voting rights are getting more outrageous and more dangerous to our democracy. The GOP has introduced bills in 48 states across the nation that would make it harder to vote – 48 states! That's almost the entire nation, and it shows you just how far Republicans will go to keep Democrats from voting. In particular, they want to silence the voices of Black and brown voters – which is something we just can't let happen. Democratic governors are our last line of defense in the fight against GOP attacks on voting, but we need your help to beat back the wave of voter suppression. Republican megadonors are pouring millions of dollars into flipping governorships red, which could mean the end of free and fair elections in the United States: [Please, will you donate $1 or more now to help the DGA hit their $100,000 goal before the end-of-quarter deadline to elect more Democratic governors and defeat Republican attacks on voting rights?]( I'm the governor of a state where mail-in voting is the norm. It's made it easier for eligible voters to make their voices heard – and that's a good thing. In Washington state, we maintain secure elections while achieving some of the highest voter participation rates in the nation, which is why I get so angry when I hear Republicans in other states trash the way we do things. They're using "election safety" as code for "voter suppression" – and I'm determined not to let them get away with it. Electing more Democratic governors is the best way to beat back Republicans' awful attacks on voting rights, but we can't do that unless we keep up with the billionaire Republican donors trying to flip states red. Our fundraising has been slowing down lately, so I said I'd reach out to top Democrats like you. We need help hitting our $100,000 goal, which is what we need to raise by midnight just to stay on track. [Please, w]([ill you make a donation of $1 or more before the end-of-quarter deadline to protect voting rights and elect Democrats up and down the ballot?]( The battle over voting rights is the most important one our nation faces right now, and we cannot let Republicans destroy the freedom to vote. Thank you so much for everything you're doing to help Democrats defeat the GOP's vile attacks on the very heart of our democracy. Very truly yours, Jay Inslee Governor of Washington Jay Inslee is the popular Democratic governor of Washington, and was just elected to his third term last year. He’s a national leader in the fight against climate change, and is working to elect more Democratic governors across the country to stop the GOP and continue our progress.
