[Laura Carlson: Hey, this is important.]( On the anniversary of the conservative-majority Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, will you be one of the 100,000 grassroots supporters to add your name before midnight to stand up for abortion rights? [ADD MY NAME]( Hi there, it’s Laura – Chief Digital Officer at the DGA. Two years ago today, the conservative-majority Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade – destroying 50 years of precedent, tearing away Americans’ constitutional right to an abortion, and leaving the reproductive rights of millions in jeopardy. Fortunately, President Biden and Democratic governors jumped RIGHT into action to safeguard reproductive rights. They’ve worked to ensure the right to travel out of state for medical care, signed legislation to codify abortion rights into state law, repealed abortion bans, stockpiled abortion medications, and so much more. But Republicans have also been hard at work for the past two years. Just take a look: - 21 Republican-led states have moved to ban nearly all abortions or severely restrict access affecting more than 27 million women of reproductive age – more than one in three – in the U.S. who live in those states. - In nearly all 21 states, doctors could be charged with a felony for simply doing their jobs. In states like Texas, a doctor could be imprisoned for life for performing an abortion. - Republicans have proposed and passed laws threatening access to contraception and IVF – and Senate Republicans just blocked legislation that would have protected IVF access! - And Donald Trump is ready to sign a national abortion ban into law if elected to a second term! Team, we must stand with our Democratic leaders and continue fighting back to ensure reproductive freedom for all. [That’s why we’ve set an ambitious goal of getting 100,000 signatures from grassroots supporters like you – folks who are ready to stand up for abortion rights and support those who are working hard to protect it like President Biden and Democratic governors across the country. But we're still falling short of our goal. So please, on the anniversary of Dobbs, add your name before midnight:]( [ADD MY NAME]( Thank you for adding your name, and as always – good luck on the internet.
