My dad helped found the first integrated law firm in North Carolina. He and his partners fought against discrimination and for equality. They kept up that fight even after extremists firebombed their office, burning it to the ground. Today, we’re once again at a crossroads. Extremists in North Carolina and across the country are threatening the values we hold most dear. Mark Robinson – a conspiracy theorist and far-right extremist – was just selected to lead the top of the ticket for NC’s GOP in November. He’s pushing for a total ban on abortion, promising to further strip funding for public schools, and threatening North Carolinians’ voting rights. He’s also touted dangerous conspiracy theories: questioning whether 9/11 was an inside job and claiming the Holocaust was “hogwash.” [The latest polls show us statistically TIED. As Attorney General, I’ve advocated for consumers mistreated by predatory corporations and worked to keep communities and families safe, and defended voting rights. When the GOP-controlled North Carolina legislature imposed a ban on abortion, I vowed to use every legal option at my disposal to protect reproductive rights. North Carolina is our home. My wife Anna and I both grew up here. We raised our three kids here. They all went to North Carolina public schools, just like Anna and I did.
