Unrelenting attacks on trans youth from Republicans [Democratic Attorneys General Association]( {NAME} — The Department of Justice sued Tennessee over an appalling ban on gender-affirming care for transgender minors. It is outrageous that Republican lawmakers are putting the lives and well-being of transgender youth at risk by denying them access to the healthcare they need. The science is clear: denying transgender individuals access to gender-affirming care can have devastating consequences. It is unconscionable that Tennessee would pass a law that puts the health and well-being of transgender youth at risk. Dem AGs stand firmly with the transgender community and will do everything possible to protect their rights and fight against discrimination and bigotry. The DOJ's lawsuit is a crucial step in protecting the rights of transgender individuals, and we hope that other GOP-led states will stop these discriminatory practices. We must continue to fight for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community, and we will not rest until every American, regardless of their gender identity, has access to the healthcare they need to live healthy and happy lives.
