So why do others? [Democratic Attorneys General Association]( {NAME}, Every single time we think indicted Texas Republican AG Ken Paxton has reached rock bottom, he gets even worse. In June, employees at the Texas Department of Public Safety received a sweeping request from his office to compile a list of individuals who changed their gender on their driver’s license and other department records over the past two years. This is a terrifying development in AG Paxton’s crusade against trans Texans. Not only did AG Paxton want the number of people – he wanted all of their names. Texas has some of the most aggressive anti-trans restrictions in the country, and now Paxton is escalating his attacks on trans people and putting their privacy – and potentially, their lives – in jeopardy further. This is a disgusting attack on Texans’ freedom and privacy. Dem AGs will continue to fight against this horrifying transphobia that impacts hundreds of thousands of Americans. [Donate to DAGA today so we can build the bench of Dem AGs who will stand up for trans rights.]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE $5]( [DONATE $10]( [DONATE $25]( [DONATE $50]( This year, AG Paxton implemented some of the strictest restrictions on transgender youth health care, which prevents trans kids from receiving critical mental health support and gender-affirming care. {NAME}, this sets a horrifying precedent that could be used across the country. We can’t let that happen. We have the opportunity to elect Dem AGs who will protect trans communities in their states rather than subject them to invasive inquiries.[If you can, chip in to DAGA today so we can support AGs who will protect and defend trans communities across the country.]( Thanks, DAGA HQ [Democratic Attorneys General Association] Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, [we need your support – will you chip in today?]( [CHIP IN]( If you’d like to receive less email from DAGA, fill out the form at this link and we’ll only send you the most important updates from the team.
