It's time to protect Roe Thanks, Farah Farah Melendez Senior Political Advisor Democratic Attorneys

It's time to protect Roe [Democratic Attorneys General Association] {NAME}, I’m angry and heartbroken for folks across the country whose lives are going to be upended by the latest news out of the Supreme Court. Yesterday, a draft of an opinion was leaked that would overturn Roe v. Wade and empower states across the country to outlaw abortion. We want to be clear: abortion is still legal in America today. And we also know that this ruling won’t prevent abortions: It will just prevent safe abortions. When more overly restrictive abortion laws go into effect, low income communities, and majority communities of color that are already at a disadvantage will suffer the most. DAGA was the first political committee to only support pro-choice, pro-reproductive rights AGs, and we stand by that commitment today and every day. It’s never been more essential to have pro-abortion Dem AGs in office advocating for access to reproductive care. The power is now in the hands of states to protect women and access to safe abortions. We’ve been on the frontlines of this fight for years: - California AG Rob Bonta led a coalition of 24 Dem AGs to fight Mississippi’s effort to overturn Roe v. Wade - AG Maura Healey of Massachusetts led a group of AGs fighting a similarly overly restrictive law in Florida - New York AG Letitia James and 15 other AGs fought to defend people’s health and reproductive freedom by testifying for the urging passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act [If you can, chip in to DAGA to help elect pro-choice Democratic AGs today.]( [DONATE $10]( Thanks, Farah Farah Melendez Senior Political Advisor Democratic Attorneys General Association [Democratic Attorneys General Association] Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, [we need your support – will you chip in today?]( [CHIP IN]( If you’d like to receive less email from DAGA, fill out the form at this link and we’ll only send you the most important updates from the team. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
