Here’s where we’re at: [Democratic Attorneys General Association] {NAME}, Yesterday we sent an update asking you to help us count every validly cast vote in Virginia’s AG race, and even though we’re still working to make sure that votes are being counted, we have a critical update about Virginia’s AG election that we have to let you know. Despite Democratic AG Mark Herring running a great campaign and leading the Democratic ticket in votes, he conceded the election last night. This is a monumental loss for Virginia and our country. AG Herring has dedicated years of service to Virginians as a progressive champion, standing in the breach during some of the darkest moments in recent history. He fought back against Donald Trump’s unconstitutional Muslim ban and his failed attempts to decimate the Affordable Care Act. He was a generational leader in transforming Virginia into a welcoming, inclusive place where all people – regardless of who they love or how they worship – can live, work, and raise their families. AG Herring fought for civil rights protections across Virginia, including opening a Civil Rights Office in the Office of the Attorney General, and was a tireless crusader against the nation’s epidemic of gun violence, taking courageous stands against the gun lobby. We can’t afford to lose more pro-democracy, pro-choice, pro-justice Democratic AGs to pro-Trump, anti-health care, anti-worker Republicans. How do we stop this far-right agenda that Republican AGs are leading the charge for? Making early investments in these crucial states right now. We’ve continued to see success by reaching out to voters early, investing in innovative strategies, and preparing campaigns for grueling election seasons. That’s how we’ve won more than two-thirds of our targeted races since 2016, and how we helped AG Herring be on track to earn the most votes by any Democrat running in a statewide, non-federal election in Virginia history. And we promise, with more than 30 AG races in 2022, that’s how your money will be spent. [So we’re asking, can you make a contribution right now to help us make early investment in crucial AG elections? Chipping in even $3 would make a massive difference, so any help would go a long way. Last night was a setback – but we know our work ahead will require every one of us redoubling our efforts to talk about how our AG’s are protecting consumers and families, defending voting rights, and holding the powerful accountable.]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE $3]( [DONATE $5]( [DONATE $10]( [DONATE $25]( Thanks for all your support and hard work in the 2021 election, and thank you for everything you’ve already been doing to help us win these critical races in 2022. We quite literally couldn’t do this without you. Democratic Attorneys General Association [Democratic Attorneys General Association] Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, [we need your support – will you chip in today?]( [CHIP IN]( If you’d like to receive less email from DAGA, fill out the form at this link and we’ll only send you the most important updates from the team.
