The Texas AG is under investigation for trying to overturn the election – but he didn’t act alone. [Democratic Attorneys General Association] {NAME}, indicted Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is under investigation again – this time by the State Bar of Texas, to determine if his efforts to overturn the presidential election constitute professional misconduct. AG Paxton spearheaded the dangerous, irresponsible legal challenge against President Biden’s victory in several swing states. The lawsuit was ultimately shut down by the Supreme Court – but not before support from 16 other Republican AGs snowballed in. {NAME} – GOP AGs have shown repeatedly that they’ll rally around unjust and undemocratic causes, with AG Paxton eager to lead the pack. [If you’re fed up with politicians weaponizing their offices against our best interests, donate $15 to elect strong Dem AGs right now.]( [DONATE]( The complaint against AG Paxton labels his election meddling a “frivolous lawsuit” and a waste of taxpayer money. If that wasn’t bad enough, his actions subvert the very basis of our democracy – the right to free and fair elections, where everyone’s votes are counted and respected. But AG Paxton, who could potentially face disbarment, didn’t act alone – he’s just the most visible face in a sea of GOP AGs willing to trample over constituents to score points in an increasingly radical Republican Party. This entire group of elected officials is complicit in feeding destructive, and at times violent, narratives of widespread voter fraud. That’s why we need fierce Dem AGs, to uphold our rights against glaring injustices like this. This past year, Dem AGs have been bold defenders of our voting rights, from suing to protect mail-in ballots to urging support for federal voting reforms. [{NAME}, chip in $15 right now to hold these radical, anti-democratic GOP AGs accountable – and elect more progressive champions in 2021 and 2022.]( Thanks, David David Sanchez Senior Deputy Political Director Democratic Attorneys General Association [Democratic Attorneys General Association] Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them.
