[Democratic Attorneys General Association] {NAME}, Democratic AGs took a stand for everyone’s right to vote and fought to ensure the will of the people was upheld in 2020’s free and fair elections. But Wednesday, after dozens of recounts and failed lawsuits, including one led by indicted Republican Texas AG Ken Paxton, a group of Republicans in Congress – led by Senator Josh Hawley, former Republican AG of Missouri – attempted to overturn the results of the election on the Floor of the Senate JUST HOURS after pro-Trump extremists attacked the United States Capitol, endangering hundreds of Americans and assaulting our democracy. Dem AGs across the country immediately condemned the violence at the Capitol, rejected the President's lies about the election that fueled Wednesday’s events, and called for all leaders to do the same. And, {NAME}, after the pro-Trump extremists’ attacks, it’s clear now more than ever: we need more Democratic AGs, because Republican AGs have refused again and again to uphold their oaths of office and defend our democracy.
